Scuba Knights Specie Scramble

The Scuba Knights dive club hosted a Cencal event this weekend at Ocean Cove. It was a specie scramble, free diving only. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. The sun was out and there was no fog, no wind and very little swell. The water was a chilly 48 degress with a blessed 20 ft. of vis. Brian used his new Rob Allen speargun for the first time this weekend. I also tried out my new Yazbeck gloves which worked great. Thanks to Vanessa at the Freedive Shop for your great customer service as usual. Needless to say we had a great time, met lots of new fun people and we got to dive with guys from both of our clubs, Monterey Bay Tritons and Redwood Empire Divers. Thanks to Paul for bringing the kayaks.

Big Ab / Big Ling Event North Coast

The 3rd Annual Big Ab/Big Ling Event was held last weekend and it was a blast! It was a soggy weekend and the diving conditions were, well, horrible but it didn't stop the hardy divers. The was great home brew, great prizes and lots of great people. Brian took 13th in the ab division with a 9.1 incher. We ate BBQ'd abalone for dinner with my dad's delicious potato salad and rhubarb-custard pie!
